Redesigning the COVID Center
Updating the COVID Center page in the consumer's health portal
I came on to this project as a group of consultants were preparing to leave our company. I redesigned this section of the health portal to match our new consumer library and patterns, while also giving insight on our company's design standards.

Discovery
During the discovery phase of the project, I went back to see what the current solution looked like and what precious designers had done in terms of research and discovery. I also looked at competitors solutions for inspiration. I then collected all of these materials in Miro to draw from when making my redesign.

In addition to redesigning the main page for the COVID Center I also redesigned a vaccination page that could be used to prove vaccination status as users needed.

Using Miro and referencing the current work made by the consultants, I translated my initial thoughts and ideas into wireframes. I mainly focused on navigation and structure of the page as I felt that the older designs lacked any kind of obvious direction for the users. The current card layout did not exactly present users with a clear path when coming onto the page, and the design was not serving to the users what they needed the most when coming to the COVID Center.

After getting feedback from the product team and during design stand-ups I began to move my wireframes into high fidelity using Sketch. Here, I did another small iteration with some tweaks.
- A "Latest updates" section is important for patients to get a quick glance at their last test and vaccination so that they can quickly know their COVID test results, or if they are due for another vaccination.
- Users should be able to easily access their vaccine record card so that they can show it as needed.

Additionally I created mobile versions of my design for development.
Next steps
Next steps
After designing the new pages I was able to do a few reviews with the development team before getting moved to another project. In the future, I would like to be able to stay on the project until its completion and release.
Learnings
Learnings
This was my first time getting to work on a consumer flow, so I had the opportunity to work in simplicity instead of the complex world of enterprise solutions. I enjoyed letting my designs breathe and be straightforward instead of using a data dense approach.
Additionally, I really thrived in working in a collaborative environment with new people. I quickly joined the consumer team and got to receive and give feedback on all consumer designs in our daily standups.
